National Health Center Week is from August 9th through the 15th this year. Do you know where all your local health centers are located? Federally Qualified Health Centers such as Hamilton Community Network do more for their communities than you might realize. To celebrate and spread awareness of all that they do we dedicate a whole week in August when congress returns to office to spread even more outreach into the communities we serve. Here at Hamilton we will start the week off with our annual Healthcare for the Homeless Day at our new Flint Mini Clinic within Center for Hope on Root Street off of East Fifth Avenue. Here we will be giving out care packages with socks, masks, and hand sanitizers to homeless individuals on Tuesday, August 11th from 11am-1pm. Just look for the Hamilton tent outside Catholic Charities.
Hamilton Community Health Network also likes to do something to give back to our patients each year during this week. On Wednesday, August 12th we will be celebrating Patient Appreciation Day by giving out boxes of food that were prepared with love from our community partners at Flint Fresh. Please join us from 9am-12pm outside our Main clinic at 2900 North Saginaw Street in Flint. Again, look for the Hamilton tent and stay safely in your car, following the drive through instructions, so that we may serve you while keeping in line with COVID-19 guidelines.
Finally on Friday, August 14th we will be giving our own staff a much deserved pat on the back as we celebrate Healthcare Heroes Day. No one has come together more during this pandemic than the healthcare workers. Tirelessly putting their lives as well as their family’s lives on the line in order to continue to serve their communities. Adapting to constantly changing guidelines and practices in a time of uncertainty, they have guided us through this uncharted territory with an expert hand. They will enjoy a time to unwind with a fitness Friday exercise and some t-shirts from The Great Put On that proclaim them at Hamilton Heroes which will be posted to our social media. Lunch will also be served at each clinic from some of our local businesses who also continue to serve our community during this time including Roma’s Pizzeria, Starlite Diner, and The Cookie Sir who will provide cookies in the theme of healthcare heroes for all of our 230 dedicated staff members.
