Hamilton on the Road

Each year health centers recognize National Health Center Week across the country. It is a time when we focus on building stronger communities and educating the public about healthcare options. Hamilton Community Health Network is honored to be one of over 300 health centers nationwide that delivers quality healthcare to the vulnerable and underserved.

One of the focus days during National Health Center Week is “Healthcare for the Homeless Day.” Statistics show that the lack of housing can cause several health issues and exacerbate current health conditions. The lack of housing causes individuals to endure higher rates of chronic and acute disease, behavioral health conditions, and other needs that make them particularly vulnerable to poor health, disability, and early death. Our focus this year is to bring health education to people who need it the most and reverse this trend in our community.

On Tuesday, August 10th, Hamilton Community Health Network is partnering with local homeless shelters to educate the residents on how to access affordable, quality healthcare while they navigate this troubling and sometimes stressful transition period. We will also provide backpacks with school supplies for the children along with other essential items to make the return to school fun for the children and less stressful for the parents. Hamilton’s commitment to serving the underserved is evidenced by our commitment to meeting the needs of the people regardless of their current situation.
