FLINT, MICH. – Grammy-nominated, Stellar Award winner and urban contemporary gospel artist Jekalyn Carr arrives in Flint today, hoping to spread a message of courage, hope and healing.
Carr will put on a free concert at the Greater is Coming event tonight. During this program, the Flint community will be engaged in conversation around issues that plague their neighborhoods, public safety, violence and how they can be part of the solution. Carr will also uplift residents in song, praise and worship.
Greater is Coming is an event put on by Church Without Walls. The event is part of the Illuminating Community Change Project (IC2), headed by Hamilton Community Health Network (HCHN) and the North Flint Neighborhood Action Council (NF NAC). HCHN received a $1 million grant in 2017 to address crime and safety in North Flint.
Doors open at the Northbank Center (432 N. Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48502) at 5:15 p.m. Greater is Coming starts promptly at 6 p.m. Free parking is available in the Northbank Center Parking Garage.
