On Giving Tuesday, November 30th, Hamilton will officially announce our next step in bringing quality healthcare to all. Hamilton Community Health Network (HCHN) will kick off fundraising efforts for an East Side clinic here in Flint. A full-service clinic that will offer medical services, behavioral health, dental care, and much more. The clinic will provide health care services to over 13,000 people in the area.
Mr. Clarence Pierce, CEO of HCHN, said it well when he stated: “As a healthcare leader in Flint, we have a responsibility to provide the resources and care where healthcare is most needed.”
When a community lacks access to healthcare, families in the community suffer. For the last seven years, Flint residents have continued to cope with the water crisis and are now witnessing the effects the lead is having on our children’s bodies and minds due to the ingested lead. In some cases, our children are showing signs of aggression and aptitude problems. Hamilton will focus on providing medical care and behavioral health care that addresses these problems and treats the whole person.
“Being a federally qualified health center, we want to be sure that all families and residents in our area have access to a medical home,” explained Pierce. The East Side clinic will make it easier for residents to get the healthcare they need.”
For over 40 years, the community has relied on Hamilton to treat their loved ones, deliver their babies, and manage all their healthcare needs. Hamilton currently has eight locations throughout Genesee and Lapeer counties. When this state-of-the-art healthcare building on the East Side of Flint is open, it will house medical providers, dentists, behavioral health experts, psychological nurses and more.
For the first time, Hamilton is asking for donations to support this estimated $5M project. We will also be pursuing grant requests. However, on Giving Tuesday, November 30th, we are kicking off the fundraising campaign and are asking for the community and donors to support our efforts. Please click here to donate.
Thank you for your support.
