The Hamilton Run Down

Cooking Matters kicked off another session on Tuesday, March 19th. The weekly cooking and nutrition sessions are held every Tuesday at 1:15 – 3:00 PM at the main clinic. Give Marcie a call if you are interested in joining, 810.406.4246. Each session is 6 weeks long.

Two forums were held for Illuminating Community Change in March. Residents in north Flint were able to share their concerns and ideas on how they can create a safer community. For more details on our safety grant, call Sandra Johnson at 810.406.4246.

Advocates from across the state and nationwide mobilized in DC the last week of March as they met with local representatives in hopes of garnering more support for Federally Qualified Health Centers. The legislative agenda focused on improving funds for mental healthcare, telehealth, drug pricing, sustaining investments, successful models of care and recruiting & retaining the FQHC workforce.

National Health Center Week planning is underway already. Mark your calendar for the week of August 4 – 9. The week will be filled with Patient Appreciation days, events for the homeless, and will wrap up with Family Fun Day on Friday, Aug. 9th.
